LIFTING  HOSPITAL AND CARE CENTER PATIENTS’ SPIRITS

Don’t we all feel better in cheery-looking environments? When aging parents and the elders we care about are in hospitals and care facilities–and we have the chance to lift spirits by making their surroundings more festive on holidays like Valentine’s Day–do we seize the opportunity?

IMG_4975Clearly the staff  people on the units do–as these photos taken today show. The bottom photo, however, shows only one decorated room (from the looks of the windows). Many  family members may not realize the psychological boost that  decorations bring.

                 Indeed– doesn’t lifting spirits help parents get well and thus, age well.
