LIFTING HOSPITAL AND CARE CENTER PATIENTS’ SPIRITS
BY PRETTYING UP THEIR ROOMS
Don’t we all feel better in cheery-looking environments? When aging parents and the elders we care about are in hospitals and care facilities–and we have the chance to lift spirits by making their surroundings more festive on holidays like Valentine’s Day–do we seize the opportunity?
Clearly the staff people on the units do–as these photos taken today show. The bottom photo, however, shows only one decorated room (from the looks of the windows). Many family members may not realize the psychological boost that decorations bring.
Indeed– doesn’t lifting spirits help parents get well and thus, age well.

The staff did a good job! I especially like the photo of the lone decorated window!
